Carlisle United's outgoing academy coaches have signed gagging orders to prevent them lifting the lid on their time at Brunton Park, it has emerged.
It was confirmed by manager Keith Curle that confidentiality agreements are in place regarding the departures of academy manager Alan Moore and development coach Vince Overson.
The agreements also saw Curle refuse to comment on the situation when asked after Saturday's victory at Crawley.
They are likely to prevent Overson and Preston-bound Moore from speaking publicly about the differences of opinion with Curle that are understood to have emerged in recent months.
Curle said: "I'm governed by a request from both parties - the club and the outgoing youth department - to abide by the confidentiality agreements that have been put in place for both parties.
"As the manager I've got to honour that."
The confidentiality agreements were part of the settlements agreed by Moore and Overson, who left the club last week.
Long-serving coach David Wilkes took the under-18 side as they beat Morecambe 4-2 in their final game of the season.
One of the goalscorers, Arron Bradbury, has until the end of the season to convince Curle he is worth a professional contract, the other eight second-year youth players having been released.
United have not officially confirmed that Bradbury is the teenage player being retained for the next two weeks.
But Curle said he would make his decision on the youngster at the same time that he informs his out-of-contract senior players of their fate, two days after the final game of the campaign at Notts County.
The manager, though, said Bradbury's extra time to impress did not necessarily mean he would have a place in United's two remaining matchday squads.
"If he earns it [he will be]," Curle said.
"There are things I need to see in training from him. I don’t owe anybody the opportunity to wear the shirt for Carlisle United.
"There's a very competitive changing room in there. Sometimes giving someone a chance that hasn’t earned it, can backfire.
"If someone performs in training, and shows what I'm looking for and earns that right - excellent."
Curle has urged the released youth players to prove him wrong. "I wish them all well and hope they progress their careers, but in my opinion that wasn't going to be at Carlisle United in the short-term," he said.
