Luke Joyce is the latest player to quit Carlisle United - after agreeing a move to their League Two rivals Port Vale.
The midfielder has been handed a two-year deal with the Valiants after rejecting new terms with the managerless Blues.
It sees Joyce follow Clint Hill and Nicky Adams out of Brunton Park in recent days, while another player - defender Mark Ellis - is also attracting interest from League Two clubs.
The news brings to an end 30-year-old Joyce's second spell at Carlisle, which saw him make 143 appearances over three seasons, scoring three goals.
Joyce's move to Vale, at the expiry of his United deal later in the summer, was confirmed at the same time as Vale announced the signing of former Crewe winger Brendon Daniels.
On the Valiants' website, manager Neil Aspin said: "I'm delighted we have agreed to sign Luke. He is a vastly experienced midfielder who knows the league well. He is comfortable in possession and was impressive against us for Carlisle.
"He was a regular starter in a squad with good competition for places. He also has the necessary desire to do well."
His exit increases the rebuilding job for a new manager at United, with the club - who have been interviewing candidates this week - yet to confirm the identity of Keith Curle's successor.
Chief executive Nigel Clibbens, in an email reply to a supporter, today said that second interviews would be held early next week with a decision made in midweek.
It is understood Joyce was among the senior players offered reduced terms by Carlisle at the end of last season, with bonuses also affected.
Joyce this afternoon posted a message on Twitter thanking United and their fans.
He said: "Thanks to everyone at Carlisle over my two spells, six years and 171 appearances.
"It's been a huge part of mine and my family's life.
"I've loved having the opportunity to represent your city and club and have made so many true friends and memories I'll treasure for life.
"To the fans and people of Carlisle all I can say is a heartfelt thanks for all the love and support over my Carlisle career.
"Wish you all the best for the future and see you next season."
