Fire crews attend tractor fire and road traffic collision.
The day crew from Penrith Fire Station assisted a team from Appleby Fire Station with the incident, after being called for help at 1.24pm on Wednesday (December 30).
Two fire engines attended the fire, and firefighters found a well-alight tractor in the middle of a field off Greenhow access road to on Greenhow to Dufton.
The crews initially attempted to use compressed air foam system (CAFS), but they were forced to give up on extinguishing the flames “due to inaccessibility”, and instead allowed the fire to burn itself out as a controlled burn.
The incident lasted about an hour.
At 2.22pm on the same day, crews from Carlisle East and West Fire Stations attended a road traffic collision on Cardew Road, Dalston.
Firefighters rescued one casualty from a car using small tools, and they sustained minor injuries.
Crews were in attendance for forty-five minutes.
