Both sides of M6 shut after vehicle fire
PARTS of the M6 remain closed following a heavy goods vehicle fire this morning.
Due to an HGV fire on the M6 northbound just south of Junction 39 for Shap, the Northbound M6 is currently closed.
A diversion is being put in place from Junction 36 via the A6.
The Southbound M6 has now fully re-opened.
Cumbria Police are urging drivers to avoid the area whilst the vehicle and the motorway are made safe.
