EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a HGV fire on the M6 Southbound yesterday (September 27).
Four fire engines along with a water bowser attended to the heavy goods vehicle on the M6 Southbound carriageway between Junction 40 and 39 at around 11am.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "The fire involved one heavy goods vehicle on the hard shoulder of the motorway.
"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and hand tools to extinguish the fire. Crews were detained for approximately one hour," they said.
