Firefighters were called out to a late-night lorry fire which continued through to the early hours of the following morning.
Three firefighting teams - Carlisle East, Carlisle West, and Longtown fire stations - were sent out at 11:55pm on December 8 to the scene of a reported lorry fire on the A689 towards Houghton.
The firefighters discovered a lorry trailer unit was ablaze and extinguished it using three breathing apparatus wearers, hose reels, and small tools.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that one casualty was given oxygen therapy because of smoke inhalation.
This was administered by fire service personnel, but the casualty declined any further hospital treatment.
Crews were detained for over an hour, taking it into the early hours of this morning (December 9).
