NORTHUMBERLAND Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) have closed a section of the A69 following an HGV fire.
Due to the 'ongoing incident', the A69 has been closed on both sides east of Haydon Bridge.
NFRS has also advised motorists to use alternative routes as the A69 is set to be closed for 'a considerable amount of time' as the incident is dealt with.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 3.20 pm today (Thursday), we were made aware that an HGV was on fire on the A69, near Haydon Bridge.
"Emergency crews are at the scene and no injuries have been reported.
"The road in this area is currently closed.”
