Members of the Great North Air Ambulance (GNAAS) charity were deployed to a 'medical incident' this morning (March 26).
A GNAAS helicopter was seen flying over Carlisle at around 1pm.
A spokesperson from GNAAS said: "Our critical care team was activated at 10.42am to reports of a medical incident in Biggrigg, Egremont.
"We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 11.02am.
"Our team worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient and then airlifted the patient to hospital."
