Reivers District Explorer Scout Unit are looking for some new members to join in their activities.

Through their youth-led programme of activities, the Explorer unit (boys and girls aged 14-17) have been inspiring local teens to ask the bigger questions, think on their feet, be part of a team and always have a plan B up their sleeves.

In the last few months, the Explorers have taken part in everything from hikes, water activities and camp (some having their first camping experiences) to taking part in Dragnet, a 50-year-old evade capture challenge set in the Lakes which puts core scouting skills like, navigation, teamwork and survival to the test.

“I enjoy Explorers because it's a good opportunity to do things you'd never normally do. It gives me experience and transferable skills to use now and as an adult,” said one member.

They added, “Explorers also give us opportunities to visit other countries and make new friends from all around the world.”

One of the current members went to the recent World Scout Jamboree in Korea and they currently have two members about to go on Roverway to Norway.
