A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after police received reports of an electric bike being ridden in a Carlisle park.

Officers from Carlisle Section 5 Response assisted by officers from the local neighbourhood policing Team seized an electric off-road bike following reports of it being driven dangerously in Rickerby Park.

The number of electric bikes has risen with police seizing a bike that was being ridden in an ‘anti-social manner’ in Carlisle earlier this month.

The electric bike had been modified and was ‘extremely unsafe’ according to the police report.
