A meditation centre will welcome an ‘internationally renowned’ Buddhist monk for an educational talk.
Uma Kadampa Meditation Centre, in Carlisle, has announced a visit of Gen Kelsang Dorying, a monk from London who is the resident teacher at the Kadampa Meditation Centre in Leeds.
Called ‘Happiness from a Different Source’, the event will happen on June 20, from 7pm to 8pm, at Morton Community Centre on Wigton Road, Carlisle.
Describing the event, a spokesperson from Uma Kadampa Mediation Centre Carlisle wrote online: “We want to be happy all the time – but in reality, the happiness we find in daily life is often short-lived and leaves us feeling unfulfilled and frustrated.
“In this evening talk, Buddhist monk and internationally renowned guest teacher, Gen Dornying, will share simple but profound techniques from Buddha’s teachings to help us stay positive in challenging times.
“He will explain how meditation can unlock our potential for peace, contentment and a happy life.
“Everyone is welcome – no prior meditation experience is necessary.”
It is recommended to book in advance to guarantee a space.
