Moves to convert a unit at St Helens Business Park on Siddick Road, Workington, are driving ahead after being approved by Allerdale Council.
The new park is set to draw in people from across the county and beyond – and bosses have named the bank holiday as a date when they want to be open.
Speaking to the , Daniel Kilburn – the man behind The Jump Mania Ltd, which will run the park – said: “We’re hoping to have the leases signed some time this week and everything will start from there.
“At the moment we’ve got a provisional date of the trampolines being installed on March 8.
“It’s a two-week process so we’re hoping that they’ll be in around March 21 or 22 and we’ll be open just before Easter. We want to test everything out with friends and family first, then we’ve got some support groups who have asked us about it due to come in on Good Friday (March 25).
“If everything goes to plan then hopefully we’ll be able to open our doors to the public the following day. We’re also working to get our website set up where we’ll be able to take online bookings.”
Mr Kilburn added that he is also hoping to start shortlisting people to fill a variety of roles shortly.
“We’ve had a fair number of CVs sent to us,” he said.
“We’re going to start sifting through them and we’ll be looking to hold interviews either at the end of this month or at the beginning of March.”
Mr Kilburn said admission is likely to be priced at £7 per hour, although this has not been confirmed.
“It could change but it’s a figure we’re considering at the minute,” he said. “Anyone that is using the trampolines will also need to wear non-slip socks and if they haven’t got their own, then it’ll probably be an extra £1.50.
“It seems like there’s a lot of talk going on in Workington about it, everyone seems excited.
“It’s not just trampolining, we’ll have things like trampoline dodgeball going on as well. It’s something totally different.”
