Three fire crews have been scrambled to the M6 on the edge of Carlisle to tackle a car fire.
Teams from Carlisle's west, Penrith and Brampton stations were sent to the scene between junctions 43 and 44 of the northbound carriageway.
The fire service was alerted at around 6.30am today.
Crews used one piece of breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet whilst putting out the fire.
