Two lanes of the M6 in Cumbria are closed this morning after a lorry set on fire overnight.
The HGV burst into flames on the northbound carriageway about 1am.
It happened between junctions 36, for Kirkby Lonsdale and 37, for Kendal.
A full closure was in place for some time overnight. However, traffic is flowing southbound but cut down to one lane northbound. A lane on the entry slipway northbound is also closed.
Firefighters worked through the night to make the area safe.
Vehicle recovery and the clearing of debris is taking place this morning. The road could be closed for most of this morning.
The fire was so big that crews from four stations had to attend the incident.
A fire service spokesman said: "On arrival at the scene crews found that the trailer of an artic lorry was well alight.
"Two compressed air foam system branches and four breathing apparatus sets were used to extinguish the fire. The water bowser from Penrith Fire Station also attended.
"Run-off drains at the incident site were covered with dammit solution to prevent foam entering.
"The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, he is believed to suffering from shock."
The crews were there for five hours.
