The county's most famous dogs won the hearts of hundreds of pupils and staff at a Cockermouth school.
Springer spaniels Max and Paddy and owner Kerry Irving took an assembly at Fairfield Primary School, where Kerry shared tales, photos and films of all the fun they have on the fells.
The laughter, sighs, awwwws and cheers said it all, the children were enthralled.
Kerry, from Keswick, told them about how a few simple snaps of Max taken eight years ago and shared with friends has evolved into a huge Facebook following of more than 66,000 people from all over the world.
He launched a competition for the children - appealing to them all to get outside, have fun and take some snaps.
He will return to the school in two weeks to award prizes for the top three photos or drawings.
Ten-year-old Max was joined by puppy Paddy last year. Their Facebook page Max and Paddy out in the Lake District features them cavorting on fell tops, beaches and lake shores.
Pupils loved the shots of them jumping from jetties on Derwentwater, snapping at snowballs on Haystacks and energetically paw paddling across Wastwater.
A film of Max with his 'flapometer' ears being thrashed around in the wind has been watched by more than 10 million people across the world. It went down a storm in assembly.
Paddy, soon to celebrate his first birthday, stood diligently alongside Kerry as he spoke to the youngsters, Max was more relaxed, snoozing at times.
Kerry, a locksmith, spoke of the many adventures they had and about how to stay safe on the fells.
"I'm hoping we can inspire you to go outside. Leave the computer at home, have fun and take some photos," said Kerry.
"Living where we are there is so much you can do."
The youngsters had lots of questions and were eager to pat the dogs which some of them had seen switching on Keswick Christmas lights. Max and Paddy have also lead lots of fundraising charity walks.
Kerry is keen to visit other county schools and encourage youngsters to enjoy being outdoors. He would like to hear from anyone willing to sponsor visits. Call him on 07774 524427.
