A TIME Lord and Tardis are heading to Cumbria as sci-fi and superhero fans prepare to welcome a host of top names to the first Carlisle Comic Con.
Actor Colin Baker is the latest star signing to be unveiled for the event, which will be held at Richard Rose Central Academy in March.
Colin is arguably best known for playing the sixth Dr Who but he was also Bayban the Butcher in an episode of Blakes7.
Others set to appear on March 18 include former S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt who stars as Abby Maitland in Primeval and Norman Lovett who played Holly in BBC comedy Red Dwarf.
Angus Macinnes who has seen the reprisal of his role as Gold Leader in the new Star Wars Rogue One blockbuster is also lined up to meet fans.
His screen credits also include appearances in Hellboy and Judge Dredd.
Leading artist Peter Doherty will also be at Carlisle Comic Con which is being organised by Wonky Rocket Events.
Up to 2,000 fans are expected to flock to the secondary school which will be transformed into a pop culture shrine with screen and movie props, cars, outfits and 50 stalls selling the latest imported collectables and items.
Neil Livesey, one of the organisers, said: "It has come to our attention that there was an event called Mega Con that had been held in Carlisle over the last few years, but this is the first time we've done an event in Carlisle. We run similar events in Blackburn and Preston.
"Our events are what comic cons have become known for, as pop culture events so as well as seeing comic book artists we also have actors there from TV and films, props, and we'll have a car or two outside."
Star Wars fan Mr Livesey added: "The three partners in Wonky Rocket Events, including me, are all fans. We've been convention goers and we've met these people and some have become good friends, people like Angus. We've got another guest we'll be announcing soon too and they're personal friends with us."
Colin Baker is no stranger to entertaining Dr Who fans in Cumbria.
He was the guest of honour at a one-off event at Borough Park, home of Workington Reds football club, 15 years ago.
