A man in his 70s needed stitches after being bitten by a dog while he was out walking on Christmas Day.
The man's hand needed stitches after it was injured during the incident. He was bitten by a dog described as being a biscuit-coloured small terrier which was being walked by a middle-aged woman.
The incident happened near to the Scalegate Road entrance of Hammonds Pond Upperby in Carlisle at about 11.30am.
Police are now investigating the incident and have asked anyone who witnessed it or knows the identity of the woman walking the dog to contact them on 101.
