A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with shouting racist abuse towards footballers during Carlisle United's FA Cup fourth round clash with Everton.
Owen Newbury, 18, of Skinburness Drive, Silloth, has been charged with an offence under the Public Order Act.
The alleged incident occurred following the Premier League side's first goal in the match at Brunton Park on January 31.
Everton won the tie 3-0.
Superintendent Justin Bibby said: "I’d like to thank the public for their ongoing help and support with this investigation."
Newbury will appear before North Cumbria Magistrates Court in May.
