Snow has fallen in Cumbria as temperatures plummet across the area.
Cumbria Police have confirmed that people are having to dig their way out of thick snow in Alston.
More snow has landed on Kirkstone Pass and people are being warned to be careful on high ground.

The worst of the weather is on the Cumbria border however, with motorists around the Nenthead area facing treacherous driving conditions.

As winter lays its icy grip on south Cumbria, people across the area are beginning to rummage through their homes to dig out their winter warmers.
It's not all bad new though - mountaineer Alan Hinkes was among those out enjoying themselves in the winter weather.
