WORKINGTON Reds striker Matty Tymon hopes to get back among the goals and end Stourbridge’s long unbeaten run this afternoon (3pm).

A victory for Reds in this afternoon’s mouth-watering fourth versus fifth clash would tighten their grip on a play-off place.

The Glassboys are unbeaten in their last nine league games and have won seven of them to make a late promotion push.

Stourbridge had a backlog of games to clear following their impressive FA Cup run which saw them reach the second round.

Reds go into the match on the back of two wins – Ilkeston last weekend and Keswick in the Cumberland Cup on Tuesday.

Tymon, who scored in the midweek 3-0 victory, said: “It’s just pleasing to get back playing again. As a striker, it’s pleasing to get on the scoresheet and hopefully we’ll get a chance.

"It’s a nervous time for everybody. We’ve got to get on a good run to secure our place in the play-offs.”

Boss Derek Townsley will have to make do without injured midfield duo James Earl and Phil McLuckie. Rob Wilson will undergo a late fitness test and Steve Hindmarch is doubtful with a back injury.

Tymon added: “They’re a big physical side. They’re good from set pieces, but they have a few skillful players.

“If we keep a clean sheet we won’t get beaten. Hopefully with the talent we’ve got and with Scott Allison and Conor Tinnion on form we can pick up three points.”

Reds will also find out today who their opponents will be in the final of the Cumberland Cup when Aspatria and Workington Athletic meet in the second semi-final.
