Our search is now on to find next week's pub of the week!
Be it an historic inn dating back to the Victorian era or a quirky new craft ales venue, everyone has a story to share. During the Covid-19 crisis the challenges that our local pubs are facing are perhaps bigger than ever before, however, despite 10pm curfews and social distancing posing new and unusual battles for every local staple, the importance of the humble pub has never been more felt.
This week we featured the historic Cumberland Inn in Alston which is serving as a vital community hub in this time of great need with landlord Guy Harmer serving not only great food and ales but also, crucially, also acting as a crucial go-between for those in the local area with the 30 member-strong Alston Accommodation Group.
We are now on the lookout for another equally intriguing pub for this upcoming week, starting on Monday October 5th.
So, remind us what we are missing, update us on the changes you are making in order to ensure that your pub remains safe and stable and everything in between on our form below to enter.
The prize of the News & Star's Pub of the Week awaits!
Is your pub the best in Cumbria?
Let us know why here and become our pub of the week! We are wanting pictures of the pub in question from history, pictures of your staff and pictures of the interior/ exterior of the building plus anything else that may be of use!
