A tourist attraction in the Lake District has just won an award with Tripadvisor, ranking them in the top 10% of destinations in the world.
Alpacaly Ever After, which is based in Keswick, have collected the travel platform’s Travellers’ Choice Award for 2021, the second successive year they have won it. The company are also the number one tourist destination in the area according to the website.
Discussing how they were awarded the prize, Director Emma Smalley mentioned: “The award is given based on reviews left on Tripadvisor. We have received lots and lots of lovely reviews from our visitors which is really nice. There was no fee attached, we have won purely on merit, and it is thanks to the positive feedback from our customers.”
To have received the award during a year when everyone has been forced to remain indoors hasn’t passed the business by. When asked how it felt to be winning during uncertain times Emma said: “It has been a really strange 18 months.
One of the positives for us is that we are getting people outdoors and it doesn’t really involve much walking, you don’t even know you are exercising! The alpacas are wonderful animals to spend time with. They are so calm to be around and it is quite therapeutic being able to walk with them.”
As we approach the colder months you would expect outdoor businesses to consider shutting up for the year, however that is not an option for Alpacaly Ever After. When asked if the public can still make their way to the site, Emma chirped: “Of course, we are open all year round!
We will have to shut some activities down due to the inclement weather but the public are more than welcome to pay us a visit. It is such a beautiful landscape that we have and we love to make use of it!”
Taking place at The Lingholm Estate, Portinscale, walks last around an hour and a half and is suitable for all abilities, Alpacaly Ever After is definitely a jewel in Cumbria’s crown.
