A COUPLE believes that fate brought them back into each other's lives - after a period of losing contact - to say 'I do' in front of their nearest and dearest.
History teacher Arianna Beattie from Carlisle did not think history would repeat itself after losing touch with secondary school friend Liam, but was glad to reconnect in 2017.
Two years later, the pair were ready to take the next step, as engineering manager Liam planned a special proposal.
Recalling the day, Arianna said: "The date of engagement was June 19 2022.
"I was visiting my mum and dad, where I saw on my visor a note saying: 'Go to where it all began', which was the field we both used to bike to as teenagers in the summer to meet up.
"It was really romantic as he proposed with the sunset in the background."
Finally the big day arrived as the pair married a few months later at Lyzzick Hall on October 22, 2022.
Arianna donned a beautiful dress from Wed2be Carlisle and approached Liam at the altar who wore a Marc Darcy suit.
"The whole day... it was like floating on a cloud, just the happiest moments blurred into one magical day," Arianna said.
"It was a family-only wedding, so we only had 17 guests in total.
"Our best man was my brother Todd and my bridesmaid was my sister Nadia and the rings were from Peter Jackson; pear diamond engagement ring and both wedding rings in plain rose gold.
"After the ceremony, we had an afternoon tea at Lyzzick Hall followed by an evening meal.
"We also enjoyed a delicious two-tiered wedding cake."
After the wedding, the couple had a mini-moon in Wales but have planned for a longer honeymoon in the summer to the Greek islands.
