Phil Wilson, GSK Site Director says "GSK are once again delighted to be the associate partner of the Pride of Cumbria Awards 2023. These awards recognise the extraordinary achievements of people within our community, and we are immensely privileged to extend our support to the Pride of Cumbria once again this year”.
GSK Ulverston reached a momentous milestone this year, as we proudly celebrate our 75 year milestone. It all began in 1948 when we fermented the first batch of penicillin, a historic moment that marked the start of an incredible journey and providing jobs to the South Lakes community. We currently provide life saving medicines to over 30 million patients a year!
We also take pride in supporting events like the Pride of Cumbria, and it is with heartfelt gratitude, when we say we look forward to honouring those who consistently go the extra mile to make our lives and the lives of our loved ones more comfortable, safer, and better.
Not only do the awards highlight the outstanding contributions and acts of kindness happening around us each day, but it also provides a platform for unsung heroes making an impact in Cumbria to receive the recognition they deserve.
It's a truly inspiring event that shines a light on the willingness and passion of our community members who engage in activities that promote unity and togetherness.
We are immensely privileged to extend our support to the Pride of Cumbria once again this year, as we sponsor and award the well-deserved recipients with the "Young Person of the Year" award. Cumbria is home to exceptional individuals under the age of 16, and we are always thrilled to hear their inspiring stories and say thank you.
