WE shared the news that a singer who spawned iconic hits will be coming to a West Cumbrian theatre.
Paul Young, who broke into the big time 40 years ago when his debut album No Parlez went to number one with hit Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home), will be coming to the Carnegie Theatre in Workington.
40 years later, Paul Young will be going ‘behind the lens’ touring with his new memoir ‘Take a Piece of Me With You’, telling behind-the-scenes stories about his career, meeting his fans, and performing some songs.
Here's what readers thought.
Peter Gnarly Blakemore said: "Wherever he lays his hat is home."
John Hastings said: ""Come Back & Stay" is one of several tracks that instantly rekindles lovely memories of bopping away in Victoria Junior School Discos - indeed, I can almost taste the Keekos, Mars Bars and extra large crisps," while Sammantha Haslam added: "I saw him a couple of months ago in Barrow in Furness of all places. He was fab."
Yvonne Oxtoby said: "I've never seen him yet. He was my idol back in the 1980s."
Sammantha Haslam replied: "I’ve seen him twice now. You won’t be disappointed if you go to see him."
