WARDLOW Christopher Story (Chris) Peacefully at Lanercost House Care Home, Carlisle after a long illness, on 11th February 2024 aged 81 years. Dearly loved brother, father, grandfather and friend. Former rugby union player for Carlisle, Northampton, Coventry and England. Chris will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Friday 1st March at 12:20pm followed by a wake at Carlisle Rugby Club. I used to play golf with Chris 20 years ago. Sometimes more than once a week at the Kennilworth Golf Club near Leamington Spa. I have fond memories of my time, while I living in Leaminton Spa, spending hours on the golf course in very entertaining and funny conversations with Chris. Also he was a character in the White Horse pub and would organise the yearly Crustaceans golf day in August as he was a scorpio his birth sign. He will be sadly missed by me.

Hello, Chris & I were in the same class year at the Creighton School and were (not close) but good friends. Please accept my sympathy even though we have not met or
spoken since we left school (1957 ??). Am aware and have followed his Rugby success.
