LOWTHER William CBE, OBE, DL, JP "Bill" Former Head of "The Factory" in Wigton (Head of UCB Films Division Worldwide) Peacefully passed away after a long illness on 2nd July 2024, Bill, beloved husband of Sandra, much loved father of Joanne, Ian and Helen. Proud grandfather of Aidan, Louise, Jessica, Tom, Harry, Sam and Ben. Bill will be enormously missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service to be held at St Mary's Church, Wigton on Tuesday 23rd July at 11:00am, followed by a Private family interment. Family flowers only, donations to St. Mary's Church, Wigton. Sincere condolences to you all . Bill was a memorable member of Wigton Secondary Modern school when I was there in the fifties . Later when we were studying Engineering at the Carlisle Tech , Bill and a few other notable Wigtonians travelled home on the late bus after night classes. We had many interesting conversations on the way. At times when we met "up the street" he always had a greeting. His success in managing the factory I and many others respected him greatly for it. best regards Tony Britton.
