A man has admitted child porn crimes, and the possession of "extreme" illicit images featuring animals - including a squid.
William Walker, 53, faced five charges when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Walker admitted making more than 1,000 indecent still and moving photographs of children. Some 80 of these are said to be classed in category A, the most serious.
He further admitted the possession of 1,099 illegal images.
And, during the short court hearing, he also pleaded guilty to possessing scores of extreme still and moving pornographic images. These are said to feature animals, including dogs and squid.
All of Walker's crimes were committed between June, 2010 and February this year.
His case was adjourned by Judge Barbara Forrester for the preparation of background information, including psychiatric and medical reports.
The defendant, of Newlands Lane South, Workington, was granted bail, and is due to be sentenced for his offending at the crown court on September 17.
