The family of a teenager who died following a crash just outside Carlisle have described him as "like a firework, full of light and life".
Jordan David McClure, 18, from the city, was driving a black Mini Cooper which involved in a one-vehicle collision near Kirkandrews-on-Eden, between Carlisle and Burgh by Sands, yesterday.
His family have paid tribute, describing him as a beloved son who they were tremendously proud of.
Earlier that afternoon Jordan had enjoyed lunch with his relatives, which they described as a happy occasion.
The family tribute said: "Jordan was an enthusiastic worker for Eden Construction Services, often returning home dirty and tired but happy.
"Jordan was like a firework, full of light and life. He burned brightly but we only had him for a short time.
"We take comfort in our faith in Jesus and entrust him safely into his loving care.
"His family, friends and colleagues will sadly miss him."
Jordan is survived by mum Maggie, dad Steve, 17-year-old brother Matthew, 10-year-old sister Abi, girlfriend Chantel, plus grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and wider family.
They added that they appreciate all the support they are receiving from their family, church and friends at this time.
The crash happened at 3.19pm yesterday.
Firefighters from the Carlisle East and Carlisle West fire stations attended.
They assisted police and ambulance crews.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Call Cumbria Police on 101.
