HOW THEY MET: Karen is the team leader of Penrith Mountain Rescue and they met when Andrew joined the team in 2014.
PROPOSAL: Karen and Andrew took their dogs out for a walk to Smallwater Tarn on New Year’s Eve 2018, Andrew proposed on one knee in a hailstorm on the stroke of midnight presenting Karen with a sweet ring which the dogs tried to eat.
STAG & HEN CELEBRATIONS: The groom went for a fell run with friends to Smallwater Tarn and the bride celebrated with a weekend of kayaking, paddle boarding and camping across the Lake District.
VENUE: Haweswater Hotel.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: Hair by Susan at Sonata’s, Carlisle. Beauty by Luiza Oliver, Penrith.
GROOMSMEN: Kenneth Field, the groom’s father, was best man and Angus, a seven year old Border Collie cross Labrador was groomsman. John Carlin, Penrith Mountain Rescue team member was usher.
BRIDESMAID: Dottie, a 14-year-old retired search dog, was maid of honour and Sharon Kennedy, deputy team leader, Penrith Mountain Rescue team, was bridesmaid.
JEWELLERY: The bride’s engagement ring (flawless diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds) and wedding ring, a thin band of diamonds, from Jopson’s Carlisle and the groom’s ring is white gold with Haweswater skyline and black diamond marking the proposal location by Jen Cunningham, Edinburgh.
FLOWERS: Hand-tied bouquets and buttonholes in cream, gold, green and oranges by Kerry Ballard of the Floristry, Windermere including using material from the groom’s mother’s wedding dress to wrap the stems in.
TRANSPORT: The Penrith Mountain Rescue team Land Rover took the bride, maid of honour and bridesmaid to the venue.
RECEPTION: 50 guests for a wedding breakfast.
TABLE SETTINGS: The bride’s friend Kerry Ballard of The Floristry, Windermere provided the flowers and table settings.
FAVOURS: Lakes Distillery whisky, gin and vodka miniatures, Grasmere gingerbread, Penrith Toffee shop fudge, chocolate-covered Kendal mint cake and Cumbrian slate name tags.
CAKE: The cake was a wedding present from Kerry Ballard – a semi-nude, three-tiered cake decorated with flowers and fruit. The tiers were white chocolate and raspberry, carrot and lemon drizzle.
FIRST DANCE: Nothing Else Matters, Metallica.
ENTERTAINMENT: The bride’s friend popular Carlisle singer Melanie Kinsella performed live sets comprising blues, soul and jazz.
HONEYMOON: Dubrovnik, Croatia.

FAMILY DETAILS: The bride is the daughter of Gwen Frith, Carlisle and the late Alf Frith and the groom is the son of Ken and Linda Field, Sunderland.
