MOUNTAIN rescue teams were involved in a five-hour operation to help a 72-year-old man who became unwell on the fells.
The gentlemen, from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was walking above Hartsop in the Patterdale valley when two passing walkers came across him and called for help at 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Members from Patterdale and Penrith Mountain Rescue helped to stretcher the man down the valley.
A total of 16 mountain rescue personal were involved in the incident.
