ENGINES from Carlisle East and Brampton have extinguished an excavator on fire just outside the city.
The crews were called out at 3.10pm to Gallowberry, north of Brampton.
A spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found an excavator on fire and extinguished it using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets."
The firefighters were on the scene for about 35 minutes.
