A man has died following a motorbike crash on the A591 in Cumbria.
The 48-year-old, Cumbrian man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle collision at Ambleside.
Police are investigating the crash that happened at 5.20pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, and a Suzuki Motorcycle both travelling towards Windermere.
"As a result of injuries sustained, the rider of the Motorcycle, a local 48-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
"The family have been informed, and are being supported by Specially Trained Officers.
"At the time of the crash the road was busy with vehicles, and many pedestrians were in the area.
