A woman was stretchered from the shore of Ennerdale Water after becoming unwell.
The group of six walkers were on the Coast to Coast route when the woman was unable to continue.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team came to the rescue on the South shore of the water just before 11pm on Monday.
A spokesman for the team said: "We carried her by stretcher to the waiting team Sprinter at the west end of the lake.
"From there we took her to West Cumberland Hospital."
