BOSSES at Premier Inn say they received a lot of “valuable feedback” after holding a consultation event about plans for a new hotel in Keswick.

The budget hotel chain is planning to open the town’s first budget chain hotel on the vacant site of the former Ravensfield residential care home, on High Hill.

Plans are due to be submitted to the Lake District National Park Authority early next month.

A consultation event was held in the town last week so people could view the plans.

Nick Johnston, acquisitions manager for Premier Inn in the north west of England, said: “We are grateful to everyone who visited our exhibition event at Crosthwaite Parish Room last week.

“About 175 people attended the drop-in exhibition and we received a lot of valuable feedback and had many useful discussions on the day.

“All of the information on display at the event is available online at www.premierinnkeswick.co.uk together with an online feedback form and contact details for the team. We are keen for comments up to Thursday, October 24 after which time we will review all of the feedback received and respond to the key themes.”

No opening date has been revealed.
