Sue Hayman, Labour MP for Workington has been unanimously selected as the next parliamentary candidate for the area.

Mrs Hayman, who is also Shadow Environment Secretary, was selected by the branches and affiliates of Workington Constituency Labour Party as their parliamentary candidate for the next general election.

She said: “I am grateful to my colleagues in Workington CLP for their continued support and for their vote of confidence in me.

“Only Labour will stand up for our communities in West Cumbria by investing in our public services, rebuilding our country following a decade of Tory austerity, and giving the final say on Brexit to the British people.”
