THE GROUP Churches Together are preparing for a hustings events for the five candidates standing in the Penrith and The Border constituency.
The event is due to be held at Wigton’s Market Hall , Church Street, Wigton, on December 4 at 7pm.
The night has been organised by local resident and secretary of Churches Together in Wigton, David Ferriby, on behalf of the Churches Together group to give the five candidates an opportunity to speak to voters in that part of the consistency.
Members of the public will be given the chance to hear about their policies before having some time to ask any questions.
The meeting will be chaired by Rev Phil Jackson, Methodist minister.
Mr Ferriby said: “I am delighted to be able to organise this event, giving people in the northern part of Penrith and The Border consistency a chance to hear the candidates first hand.
“We hope many people will take the opportunity to do so.”
The five candidates for the seat are:
- Dr Neil Hudson - Conservative
- Sarah Williams - Labour
- Matthew Severn - Liberal Democrats
- Ali Ross, Green - Party
- Jonathan Davies - Putting Cumbria First
