A NURSERY is preparing to embark on a new English speaking nursery partnership in China.
The partnership with Carlisle-based Stone Eden Nursery will see the new school will be based in the Chinese city of Quanzhou. It is expected to open in June.
Stone Eden’s role in the partnership will be to provide support in recruiting a nursery manager and two senior nursery nurses, as well as offering an intensive four-week training course in delivery, policies, and procedures by the staff in Carlisle, and the opportunity for their UK-based staff to visit Quanzhou.
The training course in Carlisle will also include four Chinese staff, in addition to the three staff recruited from the UK.
David Farrell, an owner of Stone Eden Nursery, said: “We are excited to be working with them - as are our staff, with many of our senior staff already volunteering to visit China for the short-term support visits.
“The cultural experience and education of UK staff working with Chinese partners should not be underestimated, it is also a fantastic opportunity for career development.”
The vision for the new school has three parts: a nursery, then a primary school, and finally a secondary school. They will all be based on a single site and will all be English-speaking.
It will be called the Three Care International School and it is being set up by Dingling Wu and her husband Fangjie Wei.
David and his wife Jenn set up their first international franchise of the Stone Eden Nursery back in 2018 in Guangzhou. It sits on the third floor of the Guangzhou Opera House and has space for 120 children.
“We visited the site of the new school and it’s stunning,” added Mr Farrell. “Incidentally we also visited Guangzhou recently and it continues to go from strength-to-strength.”
