Carlisle Cathedral will be hosting a choral tribute to one of history’s best known Cumbrians, ahead of the 250th anniversary of his birth.
The cathedral will host Cumbria Rural Choirs and the British Sinfonietta orchestra on Saturday March 21 to celebrate William Wordsworth, slightly ahead of the 250th anniversary of the poet’s birth.
The event, which will start at 7.30pm, will feature choral music renditions of William Wordsworth’s poetry.
It will feature newly-commissioned works from the likes of Ian Hare and Tasmin Jones, as well as a performance of Gerald Finzi’s Intimations of Immortality and Will Todd’s We Are Laid Asleep.
