Cartoon characters rapidly growing in popularity across the UK are on their way to Carlisle.

Characters from the European TV series 44 Cats will be coming to Carlisle, in celebration of toys based on the show being released in the UK.

The characters will be paying a visit to Carlisle toy shop The Entertainer on April 11 to celebrate the arrival of 44 Cats toys in the store.

In the past six months, the show has become increasingly popular among those under eight in the UK.

An Italian animated television series, it is broadcast worldwide by the channel Nickelodeon.

The series follows the adventures of four loveable kittens, who together make up a musical group called Buffycats.

Toys based on the characters have recently been released in shops across the country, including in the The Entertainer.
