Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out to help a walker with an injured ankle.
A woman, aged 50, had slipped and injured her ankle beside the Glenderamackin River in the valley behind Souther Fell yesterday about 3.20pm.
Keswick team members provided pain relief and splinted the ankle before stretchering her down to Mungrisedale.
She was then taken by her friends to Carlisle hospital for further checks.
A Keswick MRT spokesman added: "Her walking companions provided a very accurate position with a grid reference and what3words location."
The incident took about two hours and 25 minutes with 19 team members involved.
