In a joint-statement David, MP for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale, and Oliver, MSP for Dumfriesshire, said their thoughts were with the family and friends of those who lost their lives.
They continued: "This will be an extremely difficult and sad time for those involved and we are pleased their privacy is being respected as they come to terms with their loss. Our thoughts are very much with their family and friends.
"Like most people locally, we also continue to express our gratitude to all those working in the NHS and other key sectors during these challenging times."
Dumfries and Galloway MP and Scottish Secretary Alister Jack has expressed his deep sympathy for the families and friends of those in the region who have died from coronavirus.
He said: "Confirmation that, sadly, some of those being treated for this infection in south-west Scotland have passed away highlights the seriousness of the situation and the importance of self-distancing and other measures.
"My sincere condolences go to those who have lost loved ones and my thoughts are also with constituents, who in many roles, such as within the NHS, are working above and beyond to reduce the impact on our most vulnerable residents."
