Use celeb power to keep yourself amused in these days of plague
It’s not the easiest of times, and remaining optimistic and upbeat, may be a bit of a struggle so who you gonna call…! Artists of course, who are using the power of the internet and their social media platforms in an attempt to cheer us up through a number of innovative ways.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin announced on Instagram: “If anyone feels like chatting and listening to some music, I’m going to do a livestream on the Coldplay Instagram.” He went on to explain that the band are currently stuck in different countries and that he’ll be taking requests in the comments. Check out Sky Full Of Stars, Trouble, Viva La Vida and more.
Other stars who have taken to their socials to perform live include Christine and the Queens, who did a series of nightly online gigs, John Legend, Pink and Keith Urban.
Make sure you don’t miss out on a performance from your favourite artist, musician or comedian, with several actors, too, taking to social media to engage with fans, by following them across all the platforms they use.
Here’s a few suggestions, and you can always take to TikTok yourself.
Homefest with James Corden
Actor, comedian and television host, James Corden has brought us nothing but joy over the years. Most notably on Christmas Day in 2019 as an incredible 11.6 million watch the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, which aired 10 years after the series originally came to an end. Now as we all try to keep spirits high in this difficult time, he is doing something similar by bringing some familiar faces together online. Known as ‘Homefest’, the Late Late Show will be streamed from his own garage. It is set to air on March 30 and will feature live performances from Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, John Legend and boy band BTS.
The stay at home challenge
It sounds bizarre I know, but one social media craze that has taken the world by storm and continues to do so is the ‘stay at home challenge’. With the are stockpiling of toilet rolls due people from all over the world are giving the challenge a go every day, including professional footballers. It involves filming yourself doing keepie-uppies with a toilet roll. Premier League stars Marcus Rashford, Tammy Abraham, Theo Walcott and even La Liga superstar Lionel Messi have all had a go, so why not join in.
Madonna’s ‘Quarantine Diaries’
The “Queen of Pop” maybe 62, but she recently completed a sell marathon run at the London Palladium. Madonna is renowned for pushing the boundaries and she is using her Instagram account to get into the groove of quarantine with some rather interesting posts. It consists of her giving tips and wisdom about how to self-isolate and she calls it her ‘quarantine diaries’. She recently posted herself dancing in the bathroom while singing about fried fish to the tune of her hit Vogue, as well as another video of her being pictured in the bath discussing the impact of Coronavirus. It’s worth checking out!
