Seaton Food Distribution Centre has made some changes to its layout in order to keep volunteers and those using the service at Low Seaton safe.

A plea has also been put out that the service is only to be used if people have suffered a loss of income and people using the service need to call one of the contact numbers first before attending the centre, to provide a small amount of information about changes of financial circumstances.

It said on its Facebook page: “This service is aimed at those who have suffered a loss of income to help them adjust in the short term while they get back to work, find other employment or get government assistance in place.”

People coming in person for a food parcel will still need to provide details and items will need to be requested from volunteers so these can be prepared.

Only toys and plants will be available to buy from the centre from June 24, as a revenue of income.
