The body of a man in his 70s has been found by mountain rescue teams.
In its eleventh callout of the year, Penrith Mountain Rescue was called to help search for the elderly man, who had been out walking in the Howgill area.
Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team had been searching for the missing man through the night, with the help of Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs.
The man's body was found in a gill by Kendal Mountain Rescue Team and Penrith Mountain Rescue Team, who took over the five-and-a-half-hour search this morning (June 27).
It was recovered by all three teams, along with a Maritime and Coastguard Agency Helicopter from Prestwick.
Penrith MRT shared details of the search on social media, and said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased walker."
