THERE will a countrywide entry at the evening sale of pedigree breeding sheep to be held at Longtown Mart this Monday, July 27 at 5.30pm.
This is the first pedigree sale to be held by the auctioneers since the commencement of the Covid crisis. Appropriate regulations will apply and buyers are asked to register in advance.
The sixth annual sale of Pedigree Suffolks will feature local entries including the regular consignment of females and ram lambs from the Annan based Solwaybank flock and other entries from Studholme, Wigton; Lundazi, Cummertrees and Aronanui, Ousby, Penrith. Other sellers will be at the sale from as far afield as the Bridgeview flock from Powys, the Kexbeck flock from North Yorkshire and the Lakeview flock from Fife. The Texel section of the sale features a small but select dispersal from the Jennymill flock of Gillian and Kenny Aitken from Brydekirk, Annan who have had considerable success at the local shows with their sheep. A strong entry of Texel gimmers include those from the well known Hilltop and Milnbank flocks from Aberdeenshire and the Knap flock from Errol, Perthshire, together with representatives of several borders and south-west Scotland flocks. The sale also features the final dispersal of Beltex gimmers from the Headlind flock of Allan Jackson, Lanark.
