Nine flood alerts and one warning are in place across Cumbria as rain continues to fall.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Keswick Campsite and alerts for the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water; Rivers Esk and Irving; Rivers Lowther and Eamont; Rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk; Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck; Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster; Rivers Caldew and Petteril; Lower River Eden; and Rivers Kent and Bela.
Keswick Campsite warning: "River levels have risen at the Lodore, Derwentwater Lake Level gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall throughout this morning,(August 25). Consequently, flooding of the campsite /roads and farmland is expected/possible between 7pm and 7.30pm today.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point and levels are not expected to rise much further than 1.9m at the Lodore gauge.
"Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next six hours and we expect lake levels to remain high until later tomorrow."
Rivers Caldew and Petteril alert: "River levels are forecast to rise at the Cummersdale river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall today (August 25). Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 6.30pm this evening and 12.00pm tomorrow.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Millhouse, Caldbeck, Sebergham, Ivegill, Stockdalewath, Dalston, Cummersdale, Denton Holme, Greystoke, Plumpton, Upperby and Harraby Green areas. High river levels are possible on the River Caldew, Cald Beck, River Ive, River Roe, North Petteril, River Petteril and their tributaries.
"Further rainfall is forecast throughout this evening and overnight and we are closely monitoring the situation but we do not expect to reach flood warning levels. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near rivers."
Lower River Eden alert: "River levels are forecast to rise at the Linstock river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall today (August 25). Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected between 11pm tonight and 9am tomorrow morning.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Crosby-on-Eden, Linstock, Carlisle and Rockcliffe areas. High river levels are possible on the River Eden, River Caldew, River Petteril, Durranhill Beck, Brunstock Beck, Gosling Sike, Little Caldew, Parham Beck, Rockcliffe Beck and their tributaries.
"Further rainfall is forecast throughout this evening and overnight, but we do not expect to reach flood warning levels. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please be prepared to move livestock and avoid contact with flood water."
Rivers Lowther and Eamont alert: "River levels have risen at Glenridding Beck river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of low lying land and roads is possible during today (August 25) and overnight into tomorrow.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Bampton, Patterdale, Glenridding, Dockray, Pooley Bridge, Dacre, Eamont Bridge and Penrith areas. High river and lake levels are possible on the River Lowther, Haweswater Beck, Goldrill Beck, Grisedale Beck, Glenridding Beck, Aira Beck, Ullswater, River Eamont, Dacre Beck, Thacka Beck and their tributaries.
"We expect river levels to remain high until tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes and avoid low lying footpaths near rivers which may be flooded."
Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater alert: "River and beck levels remain high at the Lodore river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land, roads and footpaths in the Seatoller, Stonethwaite, Rosthwaite, Grange-in-Borrowdale and Derwent Water shoreline areas.
"High river and lake levels are possible on the River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck, Watendlath Beck, Derwent Water and their tributaries. Heavy rain will continue throughout today and into tomorrow (August 26) and expect that river, beck and lake levels will remain high."
Rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk alert: "River levels have risen at the Egremont river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall throughout this morning (August 25). Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible from around 3.30pm.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Harrington, Distington, Whitehaven, Ennerdale Bridge, Cleator Moor, Cleator, Egremont, Beckermet, Braystones, Calder Bridge, Gosforth, Seascale, Wasdale, Holmrook, Eskdale and Bootle areas.
"High river levels are possible on the River Wyre, Distington Beck, Pow Beck, River Ehen, River Keekle, Skirting Beck, Whangs Beck, Kirk Beck, Black Beck, River Calder, River Bleng, River Irt, River Mite, River Esk, River Annas and their tributaries. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next six hours and we are monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
Rivers Kent and Bela alert: "River levels have risen at the Staveley Village river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall today (August 25). Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible throughout this afternoon and overnight tonight.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Staveley, Ings, Burneside, Kendal, Garnett Bridge, Stainton, Sedgwick, Holme, Beetham and Milnthorpe areas. High river levels are possible on the Rivers Kent, Gowan, Sprint, Mint, Stock Beck, Stainton Beck, Peasey Beck, Farleton Beck, River Bela, Holme Beck and their tributaries.
"Heavy rain will continue throughout today and into tomorrow and we expect that river levels will remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water."
Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck alert: "River levels have risen at the Fitz Bridge and Duddon Hall river gauges as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible during today (August 25) and overnight. Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Dunnerdale, Duddon Bridge, Broughton-in-Furness, Kirkby-in-Furness, Soutergate, Coniston, Ulverston, Dalton-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furness areas.
"High river and lake levels are possible on the River Duddon, Kirkby Pool, Soutergate Beck, Church Beck, Yewdale Beck, Coniston Water, River Crake, Town Beck, Dragley Beck, Poaka Beck, Mill Beck and their tributaries. We expect river levels to remain high until tomorrow.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes and avoid low lying footpaths near rivers which may be flooded."
Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster alert: "River levels have risen at the Jeffy Knotts river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall today. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible this evening (August 25) and overnight into tomorrow.
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Langdale, Grasmere, Ambleside, Troutbeck, Windermere, Hawkshead, Rusland Valley, Newby Bridge, Backbarrow, Cartmel, Cark and Winster Valley areas. High river and lake levels are possible on Great Langdale Beck, River Brathay, River Rothay, Trout Beck, Mill Beck, Cunsey Beck, Windermere lake, Rusland Pool, River Eea, River Winster and their tributaries.
"Further rainfall is forecast throughout this evening and overnight and we are closely monitoring the situation. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
Rivers Esk and Irving alert: "River levels have risen at the Greenholme river gauge on the River Irthing as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible between 8.30pm and 11pm today (August 25).
"Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Gilsland, Lanercost, Brampton, Irthington, Castle Carrock, Newby East, Longtown and Rockcliffe areas. High river levels are possible on the River Irthing, Cam Beck, Brampton Beck, Castle Carrock Beck, River Gelt, River Lyne, Border Esk, Lochinvar Beck, Rockcliffe Beck and their tributaries.
"We are not expecting the situation to escalate and therefore do not envisage issuing any subsequent flood warnings. Further rainfall is forecast over the next six to eight hours. We expect river levels to remain high until early tomorrow morning. We are closely monitoring the situation."
