AN APPLICATION to convert barns into three homes, and for eight "camping pod" pitches, has been lodged.
Carlisle City Council have received an application for the: "Conversion of barns to form three dwellings and the change of use of land for the siting of eight camping pods" at Garthside, Walton, Brampton.
It's been submitted by a Mr and Mrs Bishop, from Newby East.
According to the planning statement: "In overall terms, the principle of development is acceptable.
"The location, scale and design of the development is appropriate to the character of the area with adequate access and parking achievable and would not result in harm to the nearby Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site."
The application site, Garthside, Walton is located in open countryside, approximately 1.5 miles to the north west of Lanercost and 1.6 miles to the east of Walton.
The application site comprises a detached two storey traditional farmhouse, with a range of traditional and modern agricultural buildings and situated in a farm yard setting.
