Music, fun and good social distancing were the order of the day in Whitehaven on Saturday as around 600 people enjoyed hours of entertainment from a host of local acts.
St Bees Community Radio teamed up Whitehaven Rugby League Club to hold Rock & Rave @ the Rec.
The event brought a host of local talent to the stage, from musicians playing live to a selection of the community radio station's own DJs.
It was headlined by The Voice winner Jolan and his band.
Revellers were able to make the most of the hot weather as they enjoyed the day.
And, in a nod to their sporting venue, organisers devised a sin bin system with yellow and red cards in case anyone needed a friendly reminder to maintain distancing.
Danny Maudling, of the community radio station, was on the organising team.
He said: "It was something we wanted to do in the summer but obviously restrictions were against us.
"We were approached by the rugby ground and it took about two weeks to organise so it was a bit of a whirlwind event.
"Everybody behaved themselves on the day. I don't think anybody got a red card."
Danny, who also runs the Yellow Earl in Whitehaven, said the organisers worked closely with Copeland council to draw up a robust plan for keeping revellers safe at the event, which had a capacity of 600 and was virtually sold out.
Measures put in place included people staying in groups of no more than six people, with marked out areas, along with a one-way system for getting around the site, and an online pre-ordering service for the bar.
"I'm used to doing festivals where people just wander in and move about so it was a lot different," Danny added.
"It was a good day. In the current climate we felt we wanted to support the local bands because everybody's struggling for work.
"We were very lucky with the weather.
"If this is the future of events, we'll certainly be look at doing one next year."
Danny praised the efforts of all those who were involved in putting on the event, including Dean Fearon and Lauren Allen of the rugby club, and Charles Bagshaw of the community radio station.
The organisers extended their gratitude to all those who sponsored the event, including Morgan Sindall, which provided a generator to power the event.
