Plans have been lodged for the creation of new boarding kennels near Arlecdon.
A planning application has been submitted to Copeland Council, requesting permission to establish a kennels for up to 14 dogs at Quarry Bank Farm, in the Winder area near Arlecdon.
The application has been submitted on behalf of Mr and Mrs Clark, who are seeking to "enhance their current farming business" in light of the changes set to come for farming in the wake of the final Brexit outcome.
The application to Copeland Council explains: "Due to Brexit and changes to the way in which farming in the UK is going to be substituted, Mr and Mrs Clark are seeking to enhance their current farming business, and feel it would be beneficial to diversity using the space available to them on their land."
The application requests permission to repurpose one of Quarry Bank Farm's buildings as kennels.
Mr and Mrs Clark are proposing to "open a boarding establishment" for up to 14 dogs, the application adds, "opening seven days a week, and are seeking to offer employment in the local area".
